Above you see a picture of the furniture I am (not so) patiently waiting on. The nursery is painted, and I am ready to start setting up and moving in! Makes sense right - since at almost 30 weeks pregnant most people are done with their nurseries!?! You may have heard of the instinct they call nesting.... well, I'm a very unhappy mamma bird at this point :-) You see, after our furniture store's predicted 6-8 week "deadline" turned into 9 weeks, I called to find out an updated status. They scrambled for the words to tell me that they had L.O.S.T. our furniture order. I can honestly say that I would not want to have to tell a pregnant lady that :-) As nicely (but firmly) as possible, I told them I hoped that it would not take another 6-8 weeks because I'm due in 10. That's right -
just 10 weeks left!!!!!!!!!
They assured me that they would put a 2-3 week rush on the order. Only to find out that the side table is on backorder until mid-June... Oh well, I can live without a side table - but I'll definitely be checking weekly on the status of the other furniture from here on out until it is sitting in my house!
So, to all you mammas-to-be (or future mammas-to-be) who are waiting to order your furniture - I'd suggest doing so as early as possible!!!!! Don't wait around.....it could lead to even more waiting :-)
In the mean time, I am going to have to settle for hanging curtains and getting clothes and bedding washed and ready to be quickly put into place when the dresser and crib do finally get here. Looks like my 3rd trimester is going to include a lot more work than I had previously planned! Maybe I can get some rest when the baby comes - HA!
(for those who are a little slow - I was kidding about that... ;-)

I know it may seem stressful, but that baby boy will never know the difference! If his nursery is not picture perfect it will only be you who cares. Get some rest while you still have the chance! :)
