Our Trip in Pictures

We had a great time on our trip to San Francisco and Yosemite National Park!!!
Here are a few pictures from our travels...

Of course we had to visit the Golden Gate Bridge!

Then we headed over to Lombard Street - "The Crookedest Street" in the World.

We took a great tour of Alcatraz Island,

and saw the Sea Lions at Pier 39...

We ate a yummy dessert at Ghiardelli Square,

and drove to San Jose, CA to visit the Winchester Mystery House...

Mrs. Winchester built this nonsensical house 24 hours a day for 38 years to scare off the ghosts of the people killed by the Winchester riffle that she thought haunted her!

Then we headed up to Napa Valley to see the vineyards. We took a tour of the Beringer Vineyard and wine caves.

Our first day in Yosemite Valley was cold and snowy,

but our second day was BEAUTIFUL and SUNNY!!!

We saw the granite rock formations,

and the beautiful waterfalls!

There were some absolutely breathtaking views!

I hiked a lot for a 6.5 month pregnant chick :-)

We hiked through the Mariposa Grove of Redwoods. Some had fallen a long time ago,

and some were still standing strong. I loved how small they made me feel :-)

They were the biggest things I've ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had so much fun!

Speaking of Swollen Feet....

Have you seen these????

They are all Crocs!!!! But they are actually kinda cute. I even like the new look of the clogs (see the last picture). Yes, I may have to take the plunge and get some Crocs this summer...my feet are already starting to get uncomfortable, and I'm not even to my third trimester yet - YIKES!

Baby Moon

Well, this time tomorrow I'll be finishing up my work and heading to Nashville with my hubby to hop on a jet plane! I wish I could say "I don't know when I'll be back again..." but I do - and it's Thursday:-) Kevin and I are taking a "Baby Moon" Vacation in beautiful California! I'm so excited, I can barely stand it! I need a vacation at this point in the year....feelings which may be reminiscent of my Spring Breaks as a student and teacher! Whatever the reason - it'll be a nice break.

I've also been thinking a lot lately of how our lives are about to change - forever. Kevin and I could not be more excited about the fast approaching change! At the same time, we both know that our time - together - alone - is coming to an abrupt end in a few short months, so we are excited to get to spend several days alone together - enjoying each other. This could be one of our most treasured vacations!

I've got my camera ready to go! Some of the things we plan to see are the sites of San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Yosemite! My feet are swelling just thinking about it ;-)  Stay tuned for pictures late next week!!!

It Was a Happy Easter!!!

As you can see from the pictures above, we had a very Happy Easter fillled with family and fun! We were able to go to Auburn/Waverly, and spend time with family which was extremely fun and refreshing! We had not been "home" since Christmas!!

We got all dressed up for church on Sunday and went to celebrate Jesus's resurection with family and friends at the church we grew up in. How fun to sing "Up From the Grave He Arose" with the organ playing in the background!!!

As you can see, even Fischer got cleaned up for his Easter picture :-) Then his true colors came out, and he spent lots of time swimming in the lake!

We all had a great time, and I can't wait to go back! I also cannot wait to hunt Easter Eggs next year with a very special 9 month old boy :-)

It's On The Way

I'm having a hard time focusing at work today! You see, our dining room furniture is being delivered, and I CANNOT wait to see it! I've been dreaming of a pretty dining room for the past 4 years, and today it's actually coming together!!! The hubby has been working tirelessly to
paint and trim-out our dining room over the past few weeks (pictures to come)....he almost beat the deadline of the furniture's arrival. However, some sweet friends of ours invited us over to eat supper with them last night (while he was planning to finish it all up), and I never turn down a dinner invitation:-) So there is just a few finishing touches left to be done after today, and it will truly be complete.

Now all I need is a dinner party on my calendar and some fresh flowers for my centerpiece!!!

UPDATE: The furniture is in place, and it looks AMAZING!!!! Now all I need is curtains, art, a new fixture, and a rug.....it never ends (Those things will come in time...for now, we can seat 10 people comfortably, and I'm so excited!!! :-)

Frogs, Snails, and Puppy Dog Tails

I wholeheartedly admit that I have been T.E.R.R.I.B.L.E. about posting in the past few months (proof of that is clearly displayed as my last post - before last night - was back in December). Well, let me tell you that A LOT has happened between then and now, and I will attempt to slowly update my blog with things that have occured iduring the time lapse.

The most important news from the past few months, however, is that on February 24th we found out that we are expecting a baby boy (as you can see from the ultrasound pictures above)! Kevin and I could not be more thrilled!!! We cannot wait for our little man to be here in just 3.5 short months. Wow, time is surely flying by!!!

As soon we found out his gender, I started shopping and nesting like crazy! Now we are just waiting for the stuff that I've ordered to come in. I already have the crib bedding and artwork for the nursery, and I know the color I'm going to paint it. That's at least a step in the right direction... Now if we can just find some time to paint the walls and then put all those pieces together...it'll be complete :-) Sounds simple, right??? Well, our little nest is crazy right now because not only has this mama bird been concentrated on the nursery, but I've also been trying to finish the kitchen and dining room as well - posts & pictures to come!!! My poor hubby has been worked to the bone lately, but he hasn't complained a bit!!!

In all of the fuss of getting our home in order for our little man's arrival, we still do not have a name picked out! We have a few ideas, but have not felt very inspired in the naming department yet :-/ Maybe this weekend we can figure out what his name is as we drive to Auburn for an Easter with family! Last night as I was laying in bed, I realized that it's been a little over 3 months since we were in Auburn for a visit. That is a really long time for us!! I then realized that we have that same amount of time before our baby arrives, and it didn't seem quite so long anymore :-)

On another note, we have been LOVING the beautiful spring weather over the past few weekends! Me and my preggers self has even gotten outside and worked in the yard like crazy to make it look fresh and beautiful for Spring! It truly is my favorite time of year!!!

Testing, Testing, 123 Testing

I have not posted in forever due to blogging being blocked at work. That and the fact that our little BOY...that's right....we're having a baby boy...has been keeping us very busy preparing for his arrival in July! I'm going to try very hard to start posting again - through email. This is a test run - hopefully it'll work :-)

I'm also including a picture of my baby bump at 22 weeks (even though I'm already 24 weeks) One day I'll catch up!!!
